John R. Laubach Dies Suddenly
Well-known Nazareth Man Fatally Stricken in His Office
John R. Laubach, secretary and treasurer of the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Northampton County, died suddenly at 10:15 this morning at his office, Nazareth National Bank Building, South Main Street, Nazareyh. He was engaged in his usual routine of duties when he was suddenly stricken with apoplexy and fell from his chair to the floor. He passed away before medical aid could be summoned. He was in the 69th year of his age and resided at 341 South Broad Street, Nazareth.
Mr. Laubach was born in Lower Nazareth Township and was the son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Adam Laubach. He was formerly a schoolteacher in Nazareth and for eight years was assistant postmaster there. About four years ago on the death of A H Stofflet, he was elected as secretary in treasurer of the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He was a member of the Reformed congregation at Dryland church, Hecktown.
Deceased was twice married and is survived by his widow and three children: Dr. Charles A Laubach, who is connected with the state hospital, Norristown; Mrs. Raymond Adams, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Henry Beck, of Nazareth. He also leaves one brother, Robert A Laubach, of Nazareth.
Mr. Laubach was a member of the Knights of the Golden Eagle and the Junior Order of American Mechanics at Nazareth. He had a wide acquaintances in Nazareth and throughout Northampton County and his sudden death was a great shock to all who knew him.
