Lewis H. Abel
Lewis H. Abel, died yesterday at 4:35 a.m. at his home on South Second Street, Emaus, from a complication of diseased due to old age. Mr. Abel was 76 years old may 18th last. He was a son of the late Philip and Hannah Abel, and was born and raised in Forks Township, Northampton county. He lived at Bethlehem until a year ago, when he moved to Emaus. Deceased is survived by his wife, Nee

Allen E. Abel, pastor of the Moravian Church at Emaus; Frank B. of Bethlehem, Henry P. of Bath, Charles of Allentown, and Ida C. at home. Also by seven grandchildren four great grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters, Benjamin, of Nazareth; James of Bangor, William of Norristown, N.J, and Sarah of Nazareth. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and served from October 7, 1862 to July 23, 1863 in Company A. 153d Regiment and fought at Gettysburg, Chancellorsville and in minor engagement. He was a comrade of G.A.R. Post No 1872, of Bethlehem and a member of the Nazareth Moravian church.
