William H. clause
William H. Clause, a widely known and highly respected citizen of Butztow n, this county, expired at his residence in that place on Saturday nig ht at 10 o'clock. The deceased had been in failing health for some time p ast, suffering from consumption. The disease however, did not deter him fr om being about attending to business, and it was with feeling of surpri se that his wide circle of friends learned of his demise. He was born in W agnersville, this county, in 1826, and in politics was a Republican. He fo llowed the occupation of a farmer until a few years ago, during which ti me he accumulated a fortune. Last fall he was appointed one of the boa rd of Prison Inspectors by Judge Meyers, which position he held at the ti me of his death, having attended their last session on Wednesday of last w eek. He has maintained a strict business integrity and fidelity througho ut his entire life, and acquired the respect of all whom he came in conta ct with. The funeral will take place from his late residence in Butzto wn on Wednesday morning at 9:30. Interment will take place at the Farmers ville Church. |
