Allentown Fan Drops Dead at Baseball Game
Edgar G. Frankenfield Is Stroke Victim at East Penn League Game
Edgar G. Frankenfield, aged 43, of 1137 Liberty street, this city, dropp ed dead from a cerebral hemorrhage at 4 o?clock while watching the Fairvi ew Ponies rally to tie the score in the fifth inning of their East Penn Le ague game with East Greenville at the latter place, yesterday afternoo n. The intense heat and the excitement created by the spurt of the loc al team, eventually to lose by a 6 to 5 score in the tenth, are thoug ht to have been contributing causes to the fatal attack suffered by the Al lentown fan.

The Pones ere trailing in a 5 to 2 tally, when the rally began. As they ti ed the score, Frankenfield was seen to collapse and he was carried from t he grandstand and Dr. H. W. Carter, of Pennsburg, was called. However t he man was dead before the physician arrived. His remains were remov ed to the morgue of Undertaker Dimmig and later, after Coroner Detsr a, of Norristown, issued a certificate of death, they were brought to th is city.

Mr. Frankenfield was a native of Allentown and was the son of Mrs. Rose Ba rrett. He was a mechanic in the employ of the International Motor compa ny and apparently in the best of health when he left with friends for t he ball game yesterday afternoon.

He is survived by his mother, his wife, Katie (nee Bartholomew: two daught ers, Mrs. Charles Gaumer, and Ethel Frankenfield, a son, Edgar, Jr. and t wo grandchildren, Geraldine and Dolores. He was a member of Greenleaf lodg e, F. and A. M., and of Zion Reformed Church, this city.
