Asher C. Herman, for many years a farmer near Lower Saucon Church in North ampton County, died yesterday in the Quakertown Hospital in the 58th yea r. He had suffered a stroke two weeks ago, but prior to that had be en in apparent good health.

Born in Lower Saucon township, Northampton county, he was a son of the la te William H. and Ann Louise Frankenfield Herman. He resided in the vicin ity of his birth until Jan. 22 of this year when he moved with his fami ly to a farm at Zion Hill, near Coopersburg. Less than a fortnight aft er taking over this farm he was stricken.

He was a member of the Lutheran an wing of Lower Saucon Church and at o ne time served on the church council. The Rev. Robert Strauss of that chu rch will officiate at funeral services.

Surviving are his wife, Estella Larish Herman; two daughters, Pluma, wi fe of Herman Boehm, Hellertown, and Joyce, at home, and one son, Clayton A ., at home, He is also survived by one grandchild and by a brother, Stewa rt Herman, of Hellertown R. D. 2.
