West Easton Tax collector Dies
Harry B. Mutchler Served the Borough 25 Years
Harry B. Mutchler, 70 years old, West Easton tax collector since 1912, di ed this morning at his home, Spring and Iron strets, west Easton. he w as born in Palmer Township, a son of the late Valentine and Susanna Knob le Mutchler. He was a machinist by trade and was an employee of the Lehi gh Valley Railroad Company at Sayre for many years. He came to West East on in 1909, following an accidnt in which his left arm was severed below t he elbow.

in 1912 he was elected tax collector of West Easton and served continous ly until hid death. He was a member of the Safety First Volunteer Fire Co mpany, of West easton; the West Easton Athletic Club, and the B. P. O of E lks, of Sayre.

He is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Oscar j. Mutchler, form er county treasurer; the misses F. Mae and Hattie M. Mutchler of West east on, and Frank A. Mutchler of Bayonne, N.J.

Teh funeral of Harry Valentine Mutchler, tax collector of West Easton, w as made this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his home, Spring and Iron Stree t, West Easton. The Rev. Arthur P. Grammes, pastor of St. Paul's Luther an church, Easton, conducted the services and interment was in Hay's Cemte ry, South Side.

The pallbearers were Valentine M. Meade and George Mutchler, nephews; Irv in T. Stem, chief of Police of West Easton; Grover C. Gregory, chief burge ss; John Walter, Justice of Peace and Alfred E. Whitford, president of t he West Easton Borough Council.
