Our Citizens were shocked Thursday morning to hear of the death of John Twining Sr. He had been in town late the afternoon before and stated to go to his son, George's, after posts and when not getting there by 9 o'clock, George started to look for him and found him at the creek crossing near John Twining, Jr.'s place on the running gear of the wagon, dead. The fuenral was held at the M. E. church Saturday afternoon, REv. Thickstun delivering the sermon. Members of the G. A. R. acted as pall bearers and conducted the services atthe grave. The Rebekahs also marching in a body to the church.
