Corporal Troxell Killed
Corp. Oscar E. TROXELL, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Troxell, of 712 Wash ington Street, died from wounds on October 8th, which information reach ed the parents last evening in a telegram from Washington. He left with t he first contingent of drafted men from this city on Sept. 19, 1917 for Ca mp Mead. After remaining here one month he was transferred to Camp Gord on and later to Camp Upton, sailing for overseas in April of this yea r. He was attached to Co. C. 328th Inf. He was 24 years of age and is surv ived by his parents, his father employed by the Baer Furniture Company, f or the past 25 years, three brothers, John, Victor and Charles H., in sold er at Camp Green, and one sister Elenaora all of this city. The latent lat ter received was on Sept. 27th saying that he was well, happy and busy. |
