Appears the John was dropped as references refer to him as Adam.
Adam came to jasper in 1809, settling at the Five Corners, when Abraham w
as a babe of 6 weeks. His mother carried him in her arms from Addison,a di stance of 17 miles, making the entire trip on foot. Adam built the 2nd saw mill also had a tavern at Jasper's Five Corners.[brotzman.fbk.FTW]

After their marriage they rode horseback to Tioga County, Pennsylvania a nd later to Jasper.
John dropped John and went by Adam, as references refer to him as Adam. a nd also the cemetery marker.. He built the 2nd sawmill also had a tave rn at Jasper's Five Corners.
He settled in Five Corners, Jasper, New York in 1809. When Abraham was a b abe of six weeks, his mother carried him in her arms from Addison, a dista nce of seventeen miles, making the entire trip on foot.
