Johann Philip was baptized at Sankt Julian Lutheran Church. The sponsors w ere
William Ottinger of Aalben, Philip Fritz of Kirweiler, Maria Catharine Stu d
widow of Jacob Stud of Capplen, and Maria Catharina Stuber daughter of Geo rge
Stuber of Offenbach.
Johann Philip arrived in America on 26 September 1752 on the ship "Richa rd and
Mary" along with his parents and four siblings. He signed the oath of
abjuration as "Johann Philibpps Stuber". Johann Philip's parents settled i n
Lower Saucon, Northampton County. His father, Wilhelm, was an elder in t he Old
Williams Township Congregation Church.
On 30 October 1765, Philip Stuber purchased 150 acres in Allen Township,
Northampton Co., from George Santee. In 1803 he bought a small tract of fi ve
acres in Lower Nazareth Township to which he moved and where he died somet ime
between 24 May 1815, when he wrote his will, and 10 August 1816, when it w as
probated. During the time of the Revolutionary War, he was enrolled in the
Northampton County Militia.
