Hess, 81, Struck While on His Way to Weierbach?s Store William G. Hess, 81 years of age, a retired farmer and lifelong reside nt of Pleasant Valley, Bucks county, died from a fractured skull and oth er injuries a short time after he was struck and knocked down by an automo bile near his home on Saturday night. According to reports of the accident, the aged man, who was on his w ay to the Weierbach store, became confused when automobiles approached h im from opposite directs and he ws struck by the car of Raymond Fluc k, of Pleasant Valley. After stopping and giving assistance, he could to t he badly injured man, Fluck reported to Constable Stewart Grim and later w as arraigned before Justice of the Peace Levi Stever, of Springtown. Squi re Stever released Fluck on his own recognizance pending the action of Cor oner John J. Sweeney, M. D. of Doylestown, who will complete his investiga tion of the accident this morning. The body was laced in charge of Undert aker T. J. Benner, of Pleasant Valley. Mr. Hess is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Isaac Solliday, with whom he ma de his home, and a brother, Milton T. Hess, both of Pleasant Valley. The funeral will be held from his late home on Wednesday at 1 pm. with sho rt services at the house and continued services in the Springfield chur ch at 1:30 o?clock. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the c hurch. | ||
