Newton S. Moyer
A career as a progressive farmer and civic activity ended for Newton S. Mo yer with his death Tuesday morning at his home, the residence of his son-i n-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Strock, at Springtown, Hellerto wn R. 1. He was aged 87 years and had been in failing health for some time .

Mr. Moyer was born in Springfield township, Bucks county, April 8, 185 4, a son of the late Christian and Maria Smith Moyer. He was a lifelong re sident of the section of Bucks county and for about 30 years operated t he Spring Rock Dairy farm. He was a member of the Springfield Lutheran con gregation and of Hellertown Castle No. 112, Knights of the Golden Eagl e. He was a staunch Republican and was always active in civic affai rs of the county and his community.

His wife and three daughters preceded him in death.

He is survived by 79 off=spring which includes six children, 29 grandchild ren, and 44 great-grandchildren. The children are Victor of Columbiana, O .; Calvin, of Nazareth R. 2; Ammon of Quakertown; Edgar of Bethlehem; Flor ence, wife of John Strock, with whom he lately resided, and Eva, wife of W arren Fabian of Nazareth.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon with Private services at 1: 30 o?clock at the T. A. Benner Funeral Home at Pleasant Valley follow ed by public services in the Springfield church at 2 o?clock. Revs. U.E. A pple of Springtown and Robert H. Krauss, of Hellertown, will officiat e. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Frien ds may call at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 o?clock.
