Robert E. Frankenfield, 92, of Hanover Township, died Friday, November 1 1, 2005, in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Hel en E. (Nicholas) Frankenfield for 68 years. He served in the Civilian Cons ervation Corps in the 1930s. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 40 ye ars before retiring in 1976 as a safety engineer. He served on the Hanov er Township and Bethlehem Area school boards for 14 years from 1960 to 19 73 and was active in local politics. He was a lifelong member of Cathedr al Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem, where he served on the vestry. He w as a former board member and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. His hobbies in cluded collecting political buttons, hiking, bird watching and the Americ an Civil War. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Elvin and Ro sa (Beers) Frankenfield.
Survivors: Wife; son, Thomas R. Frankenfield and his wife Judy of McPherso n, Kansas.
Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 3 21 Wyandotte St., Bethlehem. Arrangements, Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem .
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to Meals on Wheels, 4240 Fritch Driv e, Bethlehem 18020 or to the church 18015.
