Find Man's body In Creek
Tatamy Resident, Despondent, Believed to Have Ended Life

The body of Irvin L. Woodring, of Tatamy, an employee of the Northampton T raction Company, was found late yesterday afternoon in the Bushkill cre ek at Edelman's by several boys who were fishing in that vicinity. Woodrin g, who has been despondent and dissatisfied for some time, is believ ed to have committed suicide. He had been seen at the same point on Sund ay and presumable did not have enough nerve to take the plunge but return ed the following day.

Woodring has been employed on the track gang of the Northampton Tracti on Company for a number of years but for the past few weeks has been at wo rk on the grounds of W. O. Hay at Fifteenth and Northampton Street. He d id not show up for work yesterday morning and was not located until he w as found in the creek yesterday afternoon, although he left his home at Ta tamy at the usual time.

He had been estranged from his wife for sixteen years and only recently t he couple had been reconciled but his wife told the county authorities th at he had been dissatisfied.

He spent several hours in the vicinity of the place were he was fund sitti ng along the track whittling on a piece of wood. The boys when they fir st saw the body in the water thought it was an old umbrella and began to p ull it out and found it was a human body. The state police at Nazareth a nd the county authorities at Easton were notified and bother were on the s cene in a short time. The body was removed to the morgue of Undertaker Wil lauer of Stockertown where Coroner Cathrall performed an autopsy.

Woodring is 65 years old and is survived by his wife, Anna, one son, Luth er and two sisters, Mrs. William Flyte and Miss Ella Woodring, of Esto n. He also leaves a stepmother, Mrs. Theodore Woodring and one stepsiste r, Miss Stella Woodring, both of Stockertown. He was a member of the Knig hts of Malta, of Tatamy one the Jr. O.U.A.M, also of Tatamy.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his l ate home on Main Street, Tatamy. Interment will be made in Forks Cemetery .
