Edwin H. Clause, Retired Easton Accountant, 71
Edwin H. Clause, 71, who resided at the Hotel Lafayette died last night
in Easton Hospital. Ill several years, he was hospitalized Monday.
Mr. Clause was a retired accountant. he formerly was a notary public
and a Republican committeeman in Easton's 6th Ward, Eastern district.
He was a Republican candidate for jury commissioner in 1961.
Born July 10, 1893, in Freemansburg, he was a son of the late Alvin
and Bertha Horn Clause. He lived in Easton most of his life and attended
Easton schools.
Many years ago he operated the former Bachelor's Inn in Phillipsburg.
He is a life member and former steward of the McKinley Club and a
member of the club's board of managers. He was a charter member of
the county Republican Clubs Association and an organizer of the Young
Republican club of Easton and the Young men's Republican Club of Bethlehem.
He also was a member of the order of Fleas, American-Lithuanian Citizens
Club, the Concordia Maennerchor, Liberty Hose Co. and the Loyal Order
of Moose, Lodge 45.
Survivors include tow sons, Donald and Robert, both of Easton; three
sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Tigar, and Helen, wife of Brooks Betts, both
of Easton, and Mrs. Mary Pursel, Phillipsburg; a brother Alvin W.,
Bethlehem; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. His wife
the former Marie Roeder, died Aug. 3, 1963.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Katinis Funeral Chapel,
Wilson. |
