Benjamin Franklin Raub 89 years old of Easton R. D. 4 died last night at his home in Williams Township. He worked in the ore mines in his early years and later was a farmer and milk dealer. He was also supervisor of Williams Township, retiring 20 years ago.

Surviving are his Wife, Mrs. Elmira E. Raub; one son, Victor; two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Zimmerman of Bethlehem and Mrs. Mary Gaffney, of Easton; four grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Williams Township for 67 years.

The co-author's father remembers Benjamin telling him about the old hotel that once stood on his parents' (Bill and Verna Frankenfield) property on Morgans Hill. The house doesn't have a complete basement due to the foundation on the old hotel (stage coach stop) The stage coach road, went down the Well Road, bared right and continued out to the intersection of present day Morgan Hill Road and Diehl Road intersection. Part of the road can still be seen and was used for horse back riding.

There is also a cave opening inside the house which was covered in late 1980's. There are no known pictures of this old hotel, but there is the old well, which belonged to it. The road that lead down to the farm was named after this well, Old Well Road. The well was operational until 1976, when a second well was added to the property as the primary source of water.
