Dayton E. Unangst Jr.
Dayton E. Unangst, Jr., 80, formerly of Bethlehem Township, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Kirkland Village, Bethlehem.
Born: October 29, 1928 in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Dayton E., Sr. and Laura Deibert Unangst.
Personal: His wife, the former Annemarie Weiss died in 1996. He was the Director of Security at Easton Hospital for 21 years and retired in 1991. He was also a volunteer at the hospital. He served in the Army during World War II and Korea.
Memberships: Dayton was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church, Palmer Township. He was a member of the Cooking Club of America, the national American Legion and a life member of American Legion Post 611 Lester W. Pfeffer, Wilson Borough.
Survivors: He is survived by nieces and nephews. Three brothers, George, Leon and Ferman Unangst; and two sisters, Ruth Kichline and Isella Paulus died earlier.
Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Township. The Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Sts., Easton is handling the arrangements.
