George Washeim, 82, Easton Native, Freemansburg Mayor. George H. Washeim, 82, a native of Easton and former mayor and councilman in Freemansburg, died yesterday in ST. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, he lived at 420 Main St. Freemansburg.

He was a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Grube Washeim.

A member of Freemansburg's Council for 20 years, he was its president in 1956 to 1960. In 1963 he retired as an employee in the beam years of Bethlehem Steel Corp., working for 40 years.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersville and a former secretary of the Lions Club and Fire Co., both of Freemansburg.

Surviving are his widow, the former Nettie S. Smock; a son, Maynard J., and a daughter, Mrs. Donald Reed, both of Freemansburg; a sister, Mrs. George Clause, Easton; a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Wallace M. Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. Interment will be in the Farmersville Cemetery
