Thomas Werner, owner of several automobile firms
Thomas O. Werner, 71, of College Hill, Kutztown, died Thursday in Mineral Springs Manor Nursing Home, Reading, after a long illness.
He was the owner and manager of Kutztown Automotive Auto Parts, College Hill, Kutztown for many years, prior to his retirement in 1970. He previously owned and operated the Slate Belt Buick and Werner Auto Co, both of Bangor.
Born in Bangor, he was the son of the late Thomas O and Stella L. Snyder Warner.
Mr. Werner was a member of former council member of St. John ’s Lutheran church, Kutztown and a past president of Lehman Lake Rod and Gun Club, Pike County.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris E Shoemaker: three daughters, *****, Wellsboro, North Carolina, *****, Boyertown, Pa and *****, Dover, Delaware; a sister, Mrs. Marion Rice, Bangor R.D. two; a brother, Carl E of Otto, North Carolina, and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the church. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Kutztown. The William S. Fritts Funeral Home, of Kutztown, is in charge of arrangements. |
