Carl P. Steckel
Carl P. Steckel, 62, of 181 E. St. Joseph St., was dead on
arrival today at Easton Hospital after he was stricken at work.
He was a truck driver for the city's Bureau of Sanitation.
Born Aug 8, 1908, in Easton, he was the son of the late George
W. and Caroline Volkline Steckel.
His wife, the former Jean Marano, preceded him in death.
Mr. Steckel served in the U.S. Army's Third Division in World
War II. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of Easton
VFW Post.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Julia L. Hendershot, Easton,
and Mrs. Margaret C. Licht, Belfast, and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Ashton
Funeral Home. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. |
