Joseph Edelman
Joseph Edelman one of the oldest and most widely known residents of Northa mpton county, died Saturday evening at seven o'clock after a short illne ss of heart trouble, at his home near the Fountain house, palmer townshi p. He had been ill with dropsy for the past six months and was greatly wea kened from the illness. The deceased was in the ninety-second year of h is age and was a native of Palmer township, dying within a stone's thr ow of the house where he was born. he was a son of the long since deceas ed Peter and Elizabeth (nee Paulus, and was the last of six childre n. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church.

Joseph Edelman was an industrious farmer and by those who knew him he is e stimated to have left a large estate, mostly in valuable farms, comprisi ng over four hundred acres. He was also the owner of "Edelman's woods,: w hich has been for a long time a picnic ground on the outskirts of this cit y. The deceased was never married and was a pleasant, quiet, unassuming m an and had a large host of friends,. His faculties were unimpaired to a g reat extent in spite of his old age and he always took an interest in wh at was going on in his neighborhood, but had lived retired for a numb er of years.

The deceased is survived by a number of nephews and nieces and the remai ns will be taken to the Edelman homestead, which is now occupied by Andr ew Edelman, from where the funeral will take place on Wednesday afterno on with interment in the Easton cemetery.
