Helen Frankenfield Dies: Musician and Composer
Mrs. Helen M. Frankenfield, 81, of 13429 Allen St., Allentown, a musici an and composer died Tuesday at Allentown Osteopathic Hospital. She was t he widow of Richard E. Frankenfield.

Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the Prof. William B. and Lau ra F. (Koch) Neymoyer.

She was employed by the Veteran Administration in Washington and Philadelp hia for 20 years, retiring in 1953.

She was well known locally for her musical accomplishments. One of her com positions, words and music was played by the U. S. Army Band over the rad io in April 1942. It was entitled ?American We Go Onward.?

She had played baritone horn in Allentown?s Ladies Band in the 1920s. S he also played with the nationally famous B. A. Rolfe all-girl band. Frequ ently substitute on the trumpet, xylophone and marimba. She at one time h ad her own xylophone ensemble which broadcast from a Philadelphia radio st ation.

Her father, a music teacher founded the Emmaus Band which he led for 45 ye ars,.

She was a member of Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship.

Surviving are a daughter Geraldine E. wife of John G. Mesley of Emmaus, th ree sisters, Mrs. Margie Alloway of Allentown, Marion, wife of Walter Fens termacher Sr. of Emmaus and Laura, wife of Dr. N. Albert Fegley of Schuylk ill Haven and a grandson.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. The Trexler Funeral Ho me, 1625 Highland St., Allentown, is in charge of arrangements. There wi ll be no calling hours.
