Harold W. Schug, 87, with I-R for 56 Years.
Harold W Schug, 87 of 106 Fairfield Ave., former purchasing agent for Ingersoll-Rand Co., died last night in Easton Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Schug joined Ingersoll in 1903 after graduating from Easton High School He retired in 1959. He was in charge of purchasing supplied for the firm's annual Christmas party for more than 30 years. Born May 14, 1884, in Easton, he was a son of the late William H. and Lillie A. Frankenfield Schug.
He was a halfback on the Easton High School football team and captained the baseball team. From 1903 to 1907 he played halfback on the Superbs football team, a semi-professional team in Easton.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Easton Elks Lodge 121 and the Engineers Club of the Leigh Valley.
His wife the former Gertrude Dougherty, died Aug 26, 1968.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Shillinger Funeral home, Easton. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. |
