Charles L. Amey Dies In Hamlet, NC.; Was Native of Allentown
Charles L. Amey, son of Allentown?s beloved Milton J. Amey, died Frid ay in a Hamlet, N.C., hospital where he had been interned since strick en by a heart attack enroute to his home to Brooklyn following a busine ss trip to Florida. He was 70 years old at death and had been a patie nt at the hamlet hospital for one week.

Forty years ago Mr. Amey Moved from Allentown to Brooklyn, where he gain ed employement as an auditor for the Globe Indemnity Co., New York City.

Born and educated in Allentown, he was the son of Milton J.; and the la te Amanda, nee Hamman, Amey. After finishing public school, he attended b usiness college and worked for a short time in this city. His last vis it to Allentown was made in August when his father was a patient at Allent own hospital.

During the Spanish-American War he served with the U. S. Navy. He was pa st commander of Camp Hubbel, Spanish ?American War Veterans, at Brooklyn.

Surviving besides his father, who resides at 34 S. West St., are his wif e, Alice, nee Payne, Amey; three children, Mrs. Herbert Wolfe of Long Isla nd, Alfred M. of Nazareth, and William M. Hagerstown, Md.; a sister, Mr s. Floyd Jordan, also of the West Street address; three grandchildren a nd one niece. Two sisters preceded him in death.

Services will be held Tuesday in Brooklyn.
