Mrs. Carrie B. Bartholomew, widow of Jacob B. Bartholomew, died on Thursd ay evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, 1413 Lennox avenue, Be thlehem, of a complication of diseases, due to advanced age which was 86 y ears, 4 months and 13 days.
Mrs. Bartholomew was born in Cornwall, England, January 4, 1845. She liv ed in Northampton Heights section of Bethlehem many years.
During the past year she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Her husba nd , who died in 1915, was a veteran of the Civil War, being first lieuten ant of his company. She is survived by one son, Charles A. Bartholome w, of Quincy, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. L.S. Kauffman, Maywood, Ill.; one bro ther, George E. Spivey, Jamesport, Missouri; one granddaughter, Mrs. C. Ho uston Nicholson, Bethlehem. Mrs. Bartholomew was a member of St. Matthe ws Lutheran church, this city. The funeral will be held on Monday afterno on from the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, at 2 o?clock. Services at t he house and interment will be in the family plot in Hellertown Union Ceme tery. |
