Allentown Silk Worker Was in His 61st Year
Herbert S. Grow, for the past seven years an employee of the Sterling Si lk Co., died unexpectedly at 8 o?clock yesterday morning at his home, 1 13 N. Lumber St., Allentown. He was 60 years old.
Prior to becoming affiliated with the Sterling Silk Co., he had been emplo yed for many years as a truck driver by the Union Transfer Co.
A native of Coopersburg, he was the son of Emma and the late Monroe Gro w. He spent the greater part of his life in Allentown.
A member of St. Luke?s Lutheran Church, he was also affiliated with the Lo yal Order of Moose and the Knights of Friendship.
Surviving are his widow, nee Lizzie Brady; his mother, Mrs. Emma Grow, Ful lerton; one sister, Mrs. Mary Klingaman, of this city. A son preceded h im in death 15 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at the J. S. Burkholder funeral home, 1601 H amilton St., Monday at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. F riends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. |
