She was holding a small (6" by 8') American flag, which she treasured t he rest of her life. Mary Agnes and her classmates from Garber Home Scho ol were seated in a place of honor because they contributed their penni es towards the monument's construction. She was secretary for the Allento wn Fair Association (over 50 years).

Mary A. Raber, 90, former Fair Aide
Mrs. Mary A. Raber, 90, of 32 St. Cloud St., Allentown, died Tuesday in h er home. She had been under a doctor?s care.
Prior to her retirement in 1970, Mrs. Raber worked for 50 years as a secre tary for the Allentown Fair Association.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Pauli ne (Frankenfield) Geiser.
The widow of VanBuren H. Raber, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Churc h, Allentown.
Surviving are a son Alan of Bethlehem, a daughter Marion at home and sev en grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Lester S. pearson Funeral H ome, 1901 Linden St., Bethlehem. There will be no calling hours. |
