A Fatal Accident
George Adams? Skull Fractured by a Joist Falling on Him
George H. Adams, of South Allentown, met with a fatal accident Wednesday a fternoon. He was on of the laborers engaged in getting the furnace of t he Lehigh Iron and Steel Company in readiness for operations. Adams ass isted to fastening two heavy joists to a rope. While the timber was bei ng hoisted one of the joists slipped and struck Adams on th head. He w as knocked unconscious, but soon recovered and walked around. Later he co mplained of pain in the head and was taken to his home, No. 636 Willow str eet, South Allentown, and Dr. A. W. Eschbach was summoned. After a close e xamination the doctor found that the skull was fractured.

Adams lingered seven hours after the accident. He was 18 years of age. H is other is a widow. She is survived by six children. The one who died w as the mainstay on the family and the favorite child. An older broth er is on the railroad and a younger one is in a brickyard. There are fo ur little girls, the youngest one born after her father died two years ag o. The fatality was purely accidental.

The funeral will take place from the house Sunday afternoon, the Re v. C. F. Sandt,of Freemansburg, officiating.
