Stokes E. Hess
Stokes E. Hess, 93, of Riegelsville R. 1, a longtime farmer, died at his h ome yesterday morning.

Born in Springfield Township, a son of the late George and Christiana Ru th Hess, he lived in the Riegelsville area all his life.

Active in church work, he was a member of the Christian Missionary Allian ce Church of Springtown.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie Hess; a son Russell, Riegelsville; two daug hters, Mrs. Alfred Bray, Oreland, and Miss Florence I. Hess, St. Louis; fo ur grandchildren and two great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Robert W. Snyder, Funeral Home, R iegelsville, Viewing will be 7-9 p.m. tomorrow.

Stokes E. Hess, 93, died this morning at his home at Riegelsville R. D., P a.

Mr.. Hess was born in Springfield Township, a son of the late George A. a nd Christiana Ruth Hess.

Mr. Hess was a farmer in his early years. He was a member of the Christi an and Missionary Alliance Church, Springtown. He formerly was an elder a nd held various church offices. He was superintendent of the Sunday Scho ol in his early years.

Mr. Hess was a former superintendent of the Springtown Cemetery.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Minnie L. Hess; a son, Russell D. Hess, Rieg elsville R. D.; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Bray, Oreland, Pa., and Miss Fl orence I. Hess, St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchil dren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Robert W. Snyder Funer al Home, Riegelsville.

The funeral of Stokes E. Hess, 93, of Riegelsville R. D., was held yesterd ay afternoon at the Snyder Funeral Home, Riegelsville. Mr. Hess died Thurs day at his home.

The Rev. Kenneth Tinklebaugh, pastor of the Christian and Missionary Allia nce Church, Springtown, and the Rev. J. W. Gathany, former pastor, officia ted. Interment was in Springtown Cemetery. The pallbearers were Warren D ieterly, Laurence Fennings, Werner Benwick, George Gackenbach, Willi am E. Witte, and William Taylor.
