Hans Ulrich was on the "William and Sarah", along with his brother, Hans G eorge,
and sister, Anna Margreta (Hirzel) Leib, and their families. The ship arri ved
at Philadelphia on 18 September 1727. It is believed that he had already b een
in Pennsylvania prior to 1727 and returned to Germany, possibly to fi nd a wife.
On the list of passengers of the "William and Sarah", presented to Provinc ial
Council, the word "Skipach" appears behind his name, possibly indicating t hat
he already had lived in the Skippack area of Philadelphia County in
Pennsylvania.
Hans Ulrich settled in Upper Salford Twp., Philadelphia (now Montgomery)
County, where he secured 150 acres of land along Rich Valley Creek by a wa rrant
dated 20 February 1734.
Hans Ulrich was naturalized at Philadelphia on 24 September 1763.
