Willard J. Sloyer
A lifetime resident of Lyon County. Willard J. Sloyer, 1408 Lawrence St ., died this morning, May 22, at Newman Hospital. He was employed by Kans as Power and Light as a sub-station inspector for more than 39 years befo re his retirement in 1976. He was a member of the Grace United Methodi st Church, Emporia Lodge 12, A.F. and A.M., and Miriam Chapter 14 of the O rder of the Eastern Star.
A service in the Roberts-Blue Funeral Home will be held Tuesday at 10:30 A .M., conducted by the Rev. Theodore A. Inman. A graveside service at Memo rial Lawn Cemetery will be conducted by members of the Masonic Lodge.
Memorial contributions to the elevator fund at the Grace United Methodi st Church may be sent in care of the church or the funeral home.
Mr. Sloyer was the son of the late William D. and Maude Killian Sloye r. He was born in rural Lyon County, March 7, 1911, and was married to Bu elah A. Dickason on Nov. 22, 1941. he was preceded in death by two siste rs Bernice Sloyer and Velma Harlan.
Survivors are one son, William D. Sloyer of Grand Lake, Colo.; a daughte r, Jan Morey, 1026 Woodland St., and two grandchildren, Daren and Travis M orey. |
