Melvin Sloyer Dies

Allen - News has been received of the death Sunday of Melvin Everett Sloy er of Topeka, a former resident of the Admire-Allen area and a broth er of Mrs. S.L. Schiesser. Mr. Sloyer, an electrical foreman at the Amtra ck shops in Topeka, died after suffering an apparent heart attack. He w as born Jan. 28th, 1917, in Admire, graduated in 1934 from the Allen Hi gh School, and was married to Bertha E. Spiker on April 9th, 1939, in Tope ka. He had been employed by the Santa Fe Railroad since September, 194 2, and he lived in Topeka for 40 years. He is survived by two sons, Cap t. Wayne E. Sloyer, Alconbury, England, and Donald E. Sloyer of Topeka; a nd two sisters, Doris Blankenship, of Topeka, and Mrs. Schiesser of Allen
