Mrs. Montague, Civic Leader In Easton, Is Dead
Wife of Store Head Was First Leader of Elks Aides
Mrs. Eva M. Montague, 69, Easton civic leader, died at 5:50 p.m. yesterd ay in Easton Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital on Sunday. She res ided at 239 ? Northampton Street.

Mrs. Montague was the wife of C. Leslie Montague, president and treasurer of Charles J. Montague, Inc., stationers, 237 Northampton St.

Born in Forks Township, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Loui sa Steinmetz Uhler.

Mrs. Montague was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran church, Easto n, and the Ladies Aid and Missionary societies of the church. She was a ch arter member and first president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Easton Lodge 1 21, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. She was also first preside nt of the past presidents group of the Elks auxiliary.

She was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Brown and Lynch Po st 9, American Legion, Easton. She was active in the YWCA and was preside nt of its Amigo Club from 1950 to 1951. She was a member of the advisory b oard of the Salvation Army and served in Community Chest and Red Cross Dri ves.

Her husband is her only immediate survivor. She also leaves two nieces and three nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bender Funeral Home, E aston.
