A. S. Shull
A.S. Shull died last evening at 10:40 o?clock at his residence at Martin ?s Creek from a complication fo ailments. He was in the 75th year of his a ge. Deceased leaves the following children: H. G. Shull of Germantown, Phi ladelphia; Mrs. F. C. Williams and Mrs. J. B. Neal, of Easton. He had be en in failing health for nearly a year. His wife died about two months ag o. He grieved greatly for her, which had much to do with hastening his en d. Mr. Shull was born and always lived at Martin?s Creek. He was the la st of eleven children and came from one of the oldest family living in Low er Mount Bethel. His grandfather located near Martin?s Creek, 109 years ag o. He accumulated much property and was the largest land owner in that pa rt of the country. Mr. Shull taught school in his early days at Martin?s C reek. In 1866 he brought a property there and engaged in the general sto re business. He continued to carry on the business up to the time of his d eath.

In politics he was a Republican, although he took no active part in matte rs outside of local affairs. He was prominently identified in all the affa irs of the community in which he lived and moved. He was a member of the L utheran Church of Martin?s Creek, and for more than 45 years instructed t he choir. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Easton Lodge, No. 152, a nd of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Martin?s Creek. His loss in the community wi ll be keenly felt.
