Jay E. Hummer
Jay E. Hummer, 94, of Pen Argyl, Pa., died Wednesday, February 6, 20 08 at the Easton Hospital, Wilson Borough, Pa.

Born: On December 24, 1913 in Lower Mt. Bethel Township, Pa., he was a s on of the late George D. and Bertha M. Miller Hummer.

Personal: He and his wife, the former Blanche M. Fenner, observed their 73 rd wedding anniversary on January 6th.

Jay was employed as vice president and treasurer at the former General Cru shed Stone, Co., Easton, pa, until retiring in 1974. He was a 1932 gradua te of Bangor High school, where he was captain of the football team and cl ass Salutatorian. Jay also attended Churchman?s Business School, Easton, L aSalle University and Penn State University.

Memberships: He as the founder of the Lehigh Valley chapter of FEI, Financ ial Executives Institute, and a pst president of the Lehigh Valley Chapt er of the NAA, national Association of Accountants.

Survivors: In addition t his wife Blanche, he is survived by a daughter Co nnie B. York of Ft. Wayne, Ind. And her children, Cherie Bowen of Ft. Wayn e, Ind., and Joseph York of Henderson, Nev.; a son, Larry Jay Hummer and h is wife Julia of Allentown and their children, Jason Hummer of Ithaca, N. Y. and Alex Hummer of Canton, Mich, and nine great-grandchildren.

Services: Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of t he family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funer al Home, Pen Argyl, Pa.
