Mrs. Samuel Beil.
On Saturday night at 11 o'clock. Mrs. Mary Ann Beil. nee Mowry. fell asleep at her home on Catherine street. Though her health had been failing very perceptibly for the past three years, she was not confined continuously to her bed more than eight days before her departure. Most of her life wa spent in in the immediate vicinity of Greenville. She was horn in lLehigh county, Pa., February 28, 1847, but in early childhood she accompanied her parents to their new home in this county. In 1847 she was united in marriage with Mr. Samuel Beil, who survives her with one son, Reuben. G., and a daughter, Miss Ella; her eldest child, Mr. Edwin Beil receded her four years ago.
Baptized in infancy, she was received received into communicant membership of the Evangelical Lutheran church by confirmation by the Rev. Hengist. Uniting with Holy Trinity Trinity church soon after it organization, she continued a faithful member, interested in its work and progress and always finding quiet joy in the consolation and encouraging hopes of the Gospel. She bade farewell to earth in humble reliance on Christ's pardoning grace and with cheerful expectation of the rest that remaineth for the people of God.
The funeral was held at the residence of her son, Reuben Beil, on State street, Monday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, the services being conducted by the pastor of the family, Rev. Frank C. Oberly.
