John A. "Jack" Kichline, 79, of Miller Road, Bushkill Township, died Satur day, Oct. 18, in Muhlenberg Hospital Center. He was the husband of Gwen (S mith) Kichline. They were married for 37 years last March.
He was an assembler and machinist for Bell & Howell, Phillipsburg, f or 20 years until retiring in 1981.
Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Archie and Bessie (Knob) Kichline .
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Nazareth.
He was a 20-year Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific during World W ar II and retiring as a chief petty officer. He was aboard the USS Emmo ns when it sank in the Pacific and received the Purple Heart.
Kichline was a member of the Fleet Reserve, Washington, D.C.; Vetera ns of Foreign Wars Post 4366, Nazareth; Whitfield Lodge 622 F&AM, Tatam y, Citizen's Hose Company and Order of the Fleas, both of Easton, and t he National Rifleman's Association.
Survivors: Wife; daughter, Susan, at home, and brother, Charles W. of Will iams Township.
