Sloyer Kansas Pioneer
Had Lived at Horton, Emporia and Topeka More than 30 Years
Irvin M. Sloyer, 62, who had been a resident of Kansas for more than thir ty years, died at 4 o'clock Sunday at a local hospital, as a result of apo plexy. he was one of the early settlers of teh state and a farmer near Hor ton and also near Emporia before coming to Topeka, about six years ag o. he worked as a painter and carpenter here. He was born in Pennsylvania .
He is survived by one son, George M. Sloyer, 724 Monroe street, Topeka; fi ve brothers, Samuel Sloyer, Eskridge; William and Mark Sloyer, Emporia; Th omas Sloyer, Waterloo, Ia., and Edward Sloyer, Tacoma, Wash.; and fives s isters, Mrs. Clara E. Messinger, Mrs. Lily Ernest and Mrs Stella Neikir k, all of Tacoma. Wash.; Mrs. Emma Cahill, Horton,a nd Mrs. Ida Coleman, F remont, O.
Fuenral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Penwell's cha pel. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. |
