Mrs. Ellen Middaugh
Mrs. Ellen Mutchler Middaugh, widow of Robert Ayers Middaugh, died at 2 o' clock this morning of a complication of ialments, at the residence of h er son, Dr. W. Clay Middaugh, Burke street and Paxinosa Avenue, College Hi ll. Shere she had made her home for a number of years. She had been i ll for the past year and for the past three weeks her condition had been c ritical. She was in the 78th year ofher age.
Mrs. Middaugh was born in Easton on November 25, 1947, and was a daught er of the late George and Christine Heil Mutchler, of Lower Mr. Bethle l. Her husband died on April 7, 1914.
Two children survive her, Dr. W. Clay Middaugh, of this city, and Mrs. Sal lie R. Howell, widow of Charles S. Howell, of Denver Colorado, and four gr andchildren; Robert and Charles Howell and Carl S. Middaugh, of Denver, a nd Carolyn Louise Middaugh, of Easton. She also leaves one brother, Jac ob H. Mutchler, of this city, who is now the last surviving member of th at family.
Mrs. Middaugh was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church, th is city, and active in different societies of that congregation. She h ad many riends in this vicinity and was esteemed for her lovable nature a nd kindly consideration for others at all times. |
