George Hess
George Hess, a former Bethlehem North Side Fire chief, died Tuesday eveni ng at 5 o?clock at the Sacred Heart hospital, Allentown. Death was d ue to the infirmities of old age.
Born in Springfield Township on December 29, 1856, a son of the late Franc is and Anna (Brinker) Hess, he was aged 73 years, 6 months and 9 days. M r. Hess was an active member of the Central Moravian church and was a memb er in good standing of the Knights of Malta, the Bethlehem Aerie of Eagl es and the Central Fire Company. He was a cabinet maker by trade.
There survive a brother, Allen E. Hess, 231 East Garrison Street, and a n iece, Miss Dorothy Hess, of the same address. His wife, Kate (Luckenbac h) Hess, died several years ago.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the residence of All en E. Hess. Interment will be made in Nisky Hill Cemetery. |
