Mrs. Madeline M. Schmaldienst, 70, of 201 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, formerly of 611 N. Jasper St., Allentown, died Thursday in Gnaden Huetten Nursing Convalescent Center, Lehighton. She was the widow of Rudolph Schmaldienst.
She was a jeweler's lathe operator and assembler at the former Roller- Smith Co., Allentown, for 20 years until retiring in 1968.
Born in Rittersville, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Ellen E. (Krasley) Gruver.
She was a member of New Life Assembly of God, Tamaqua.
Survivors: Son, David R. of Tamaqua; brother Thomas of Allentown; sisters, Mrs. Catherine Szmodis of Hellertown, and Mrs. Edna Brokloff and Mrs. Hattie Brunner, both of Allentown; stepdaughter Gloria, wife of Henry Wright of Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren and two step-grandchild ren.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown. Call 12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday
