H. L. Steinmetz, 82, Was Bangor Postal Official
Howard L. Steinmetz, 82, of 40 Broadway, Bangor, former assistant postmast er at the Bangor Post Office, died yesterday morning in Monroe county Gene ral Hospital, East Stroudsburg. He was hospitalized Friday.
Mr. Steinmetz was employed by the post office for 48 years. Before th at he taught school in Bangor. He retied 15 years ago.
Mr. Steinmetz resided with his niece, Mrs. M. A. Walsh, for 6 ? years. Bo rn in Bangor, he was a son of the late James H. and Sarah Drumheller Stein metz. His wife, the former Pearl Ralph, died Jan. 11, 1947.
Mr. Steinmetz was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bangor, and serv ed as organist of the church for 40 years. he also was a member and form er secretary of Slate city Lodge 72, Loyal Order of Moose, Bangor.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Alice Breidinger, Nazareth R. D. 3, and Mr s. Sabilla Smith, Sunbury; two grandchildren, Mrs. Marion Brown, Catonsvil le, Md., an Abrem Grove, Sellersville, and two great-grandchildren. Two d aughters, Miss Marion Steinmetz and Mrs. Velma Grove died before him.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hough Home for Funera l, Bangor.

The funeral of Howard L. Steinmetz, 82, of 40 Broadway, Bangor, was held y esterday afternoon at the Hough Home for Funerals, Bangor. Mr. Steinem tz died Sunday in Monroe County General Hospital, East Stroudsburg.
Rev. William E. Dennis, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bangor, officia ted. Interment was in St. John?s Cemetery, Bangor. The Pallbearers were D r. Claence Steinmetz, Raymond Jackson, Floyd Breidinger, and Ray Campbell. |
