John H. Frankenfield
John H. Frankenfield,90, of Allentown R 2, died Thursday in the Allento wn and Sacred Heart Hospital Center.
He was the husband of the late Octavia S. (Link) Frankenfield.
He was a maintenance supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transpo rtation. He received recognition for 21 years of service without missi ng a day of work.
In 1951 He was assistant secretary to the president pro tem of the state S enate, appointed by then freshman Sen. Tilghman A. Freed.
Frankenfield was a jeweler in Allentown and Emmaus for many years until ac cepting his other positions.
One of the founders of the Allentown city baseball league, Frankenfield pl ayed professional baseball for the Emmaus Athletic Association baseball le ague in the 1930?s and 1930?s.
In 1972 he was named to the Allentown District Bowling Association?s Ha ll of Fame.
Born in Bellevue, Ky., he was a son, of the late Harvey D. and Martha Ja ne (Hoffman) Frankenfield.
He served in the Army Signal Corps during World War I.
Surviving are a son, C. D. Frankenfield of Allentown, R.2; a brother Geor ge Frankenfield of Allentown, and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Reinsmith Funeral Home 225, E lm St., Emmaus. There will be no calling hours. |
