Allen Messinger
Allen Messinger, 83, of Allentown, retired house painter, died last nig ht in Allentown hospital. A native of Easton, he had resided in the We st for 39 years wehre he was a cow-hand, and operated a grocery store.

He had resided in Kansas, Washington, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma, befo re returning to Easton. He moved to Allentown about 15 years ago. His wi fe Mrs. Claire E. Messinger, died last April.

Mr. Messinger is survived by three sons, Frank E. Messinger, of Easton; Ch arles R. at home, and Floyd of Allentown; 15 grandhchildren and eight grea t-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Martin, of Stockertown.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman funeral ho me, Allentown, with interment in Grandview cemetery, Allentown.

AT 83; FORMER COWBOY

Allen Messinger, 83, 1701 Hanover Acres, retired house painter and oneti me western cowhand, died
at 7 o'clock last night in Allentown hospital, where he had been a patie nt since Oct. 7. His wife, Mrs. Clara E. (Sloyer) Messinger, with wh om he observed a 61st wedding anniversary last year, died in April.

A native of Easton, Messinger moved west at the age of 18 and for 39 yea rs was a cowboy, grocery store owner and homesteader in Kansas, Washingto n, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Upon his return to Easton he took up the h ouse painting trade, moving to Allentown about 15 years ago. He was of Lut heran faith.

Surviving are three sons, Frank E., Easton; Charles R., at home; and Flo yd M., Allentown. He also leaves 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildr en and a sister. Mrs. Amanda Martin, Stockertown,
Northampton County.

Services will take place at 2 P.M. Monday in the Zimmerman funeral home, 1 124 Walnut St., with burial in Grandview cemetery. Calling hours are fr om 7 to 9 P.M., Sunday.
