Miss Kathryn Frankenfield
Miss Kathryn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Frankenfield, of Perkasie, w as fatally stricken with apoplexy in this city Saturday afternoon whi le on a shopping tour. Suffering a stroke while in the Chain Dollar Stor e, at 949 Hamilton Street, she died before medical aid could be administer ed.

Miss Frankenfield came to this city early in the day and spent several hou rs with relatives apparently in excellent health. Shortly after the no on hour she began a tour of uptown shopping district, and while standi ng at the counter in the chain store, was seen by the clerk to reel and fa ll to the floor . She was carried to the resting room in the store, a nd a few minutes later was visited by a physician, but she died before h is arrival. Coroner Dr. F. R. Bausch was notified and after making an exa mination, pronounced death due to a stroke of apoplexy.

Miss Frankenfield was aged 40 years, 9 months and 2 days. She is surviv ed by her parents and several brothers and sisters. The remains were tak en in charge by Undertaker Burkholder, who later placed them in char ge of a Perkasie undertaker.

Leaving her home in Perkasie on Saturday at 11 a.m. in her usual health, M ISS KATHRYN, DAUGHTER OF MRS. CATHERINE FRANKENFIELD, of that place, dropp ed dead in an Allentown store two hours later. Cerebral hemorrhages was gi ven as the cause of death. Miss Frankenfield had not been in the very be st of health for several years, but lately her condition apparently was mu ch improved and before leaving Saturday, according to members of her famil y, was feeling much better than usual. Her sister, Margaret, accompanied h er to Allentown, and they had made a purchase in a store and had start ed to leave the store when an article displayed on a counter attracted h er attention. She paused and called her sister?s attention and together th ey were examining the article when she remarked ?I feel dizzy? and collaps ed in the arms of her sister and the saleslady. Death had been instantaneo us. Miss Frankenfield was a graduate of Kutztown State Normal school and t aught in the public schools of Haycock and Perkasie until five years ago w hen on account of failing health, she gave up the profession. Since that t ime she frequently substituted for teachers and only last week taught seve ral days. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran church, Perkasie, a nd Sunday school and for many years taught in the latter. There survive h er mother, three brothers?Rev. Ira Frankenfield of Tower City, Pa.; Pro f. Mahlon Frankenfield of Allentown; Asa Frankenfield of Philadelphia; t wo sisters?Mrs. D.N. Sterner of Weisel; Miss Margaret of Perkasie. Funer al services were held on Wednesday with services in Trinity Lutheran churc h. Interment in Keller?s Church cemetery. Her age was 40 years, 2 months a nd 25 days.
