W. H. Seiple Dies
Former Public Official of South Bethlehem
William H. Seiple, 86, former councilman and school director in the old bo rough of South Bethlehem died on Saturday afternoon at his home, 752 Pawn ee Street, Bethlehem.
He was born on March 2, 1851, the son of George and Caroline Frankenfie ld Seiple. Mr. Seiple was a carpenter by trade, a car inspector for the Re ading Railroad, until 1904, when he became an employee of the Bethlehem St eel Co., serving in the capacity of carpenter until 1926, when he retired.
He served the old borough of South Bethlehem in council for eight years a nd the school board for six years. Mr. Seiple was a member of the First Ev angelical and Reformed Church, and of Keystone Lodge, 78, I.O.O.F.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Amanda L. Huth, a son, Samuel, in Gemecul o, Cal.; two daughters, Miss Caroline, at home; Mrs. Paul Richter, of Beth lehem; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. |
