Manasses Seiple
Manasses Seiple, well known Civil War veteran, died Wednesday night at t he residence, No. 937 North Main Street, Bethlehem, aged 80 years. Born D ec 25, 1944, a passer, Bucks County, deceased was a so of George and Carol ine Frankenfield Seiple. He was twice married. His first wife, Hannah Bitt ing Seiple, preceded him to the grave. The widow, Mr. Emma Christ Seipl e, and the following children survive; Robert, Mrs. Richard C. Breisch, Mr s. Frank Stonebach, Harvey F. , E. E. Breill; also a sister, Mrs. Thomas J ohns, of Mountainville, and two brothers, Isburn and William of Bethlehe m. His death followed a two years illness. A cabinet-maker by trade the de ceased had been a resident of this city since boyhood. He served with dist inction and valor in the Civil War. His first enlistment dated from June 2 9, 1863, until Aug 10, 1863, as a private in Company D.34th Regt. On Aug 2 0, 1864 he re-enlisted as a private in Company F. 202d Regiment and was ho norably discharged Aug 3, 1865.
