Joseph W. Shannon
Joseph W. Shannon, 80, a former resident of Pen Argyl, died yesterday at Mr. Vernon, N.Y.
Mr. Shannon, a retired carpenter, was born in Plainfield Township, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Shannon. He moved from Pen Argyl to Mt. Vernon about 30 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eliza Sellers, formerly of Bangor; three sons, Walter and Howard, both of New York City, and George, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Miss Helen Shannon, at home, two sisters, Mrs. T. Ervin Ackerman and Miss Daisy Shannon both of Pen Argyl; five grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Mt. Vernon on Sunday at 4 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl. |
