Paul U. Stocker Dies at 54: Was Dairy Co-Founder
Resident of Nazareth Was leader in Local Baseball Leagues
Paul U. Stocker, 54, one of the founders of Stocker brothers Dairy, Easton, R. D. 3, died Saturday night at his home, 221 Prospect St., Nazareth.
Mr. Stocker established the dairy in 1916, with his brother David. He retired in December 1953.
Born in Forks Township on November 22, 1900, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Olivia Uhler Stocker.
Although he never played the game, Mr. stocker was a baseball enthusiast. He was president of the old Northampton county Baseball League.
He was a lifelong member of Schoeneck Moravian church, near Nazareth and a member of st. peter’s Commandery No. 80, Knights of Malta, Tatamy.
Surviving , besides his brother, David, who lives in Easton R.D2, are his widow, the former Anna Fahr; son, Charles A., of Nazareth; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Alex. A. Nagy, of Easton R.D2, another brother, Frank E. of Easton; two sisters, Mrs. Emma H. Field and Mrs. Minnie Beitel, both of Easton R. D2, and three grandchildren. Mr. Stocker’s first wife, the former Irene Solt, died in 1928.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Shillinger Funeral home, Easton. |
