The funeral service of Rev. Charles S. Steinmetz was held Friday, August 26, in teh Evangelical church at Alden, conducted by REv. D. Swart of Hutchison, assistered by Rev. Hannan of Hutchinson and by Rev. G. C. Gilbert, pastor of teh Alden Evengelical Church. Burial in teh Alden cemetery beside his parents and two children.

Charles Samuel, son of Gideon and Catherine Steinmetz was borni n Pennsylvania in 1866, and died at his home in Sterling Colorado, August 21, 1927. When a boy in his teens the family moved to Rice County, Kansas and settled near Aldon. In 1885 he was united in marriage to Miss Jessie Currier also of Alden. A few years later he entered the ministry of the Evangelical church and was a most faithful pastor to pioneer churches in Kansas and Coloardo. At the time of his death he was the pastor of teh Sterling, Colorado, Evangelical Church. Besides his wife he is survied by three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Leighton of Bend, Oregon; Mrs. Bessie Bornschein of near Pueblo, Colo., and Ruth at home and one son, Frank Steinmetz of Sterling, Colo. and by two brothes, Rev. Milton Steinmets of Kansas City and William Steinments of Oregon and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Meyer of Oregon.
